Current Opportunities:
We are looking for a practical, customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our technical support team. You will provide responsive remote and on-site support to clients, resolve incidents and service requests, maintain endpoints, networks, cloud services and user accounts, and help protect client environments through secure configuration, patching and monitoring. You will also explain technical issues clearly, keep accurate records and contribute to a reliable, professional support experience.

- Act as a first point of contact for support requests by telephone, email, ticketing system, remote session and on-site visit.
- Log, categories, priorities, investigate and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed service levels, escalating when necessary.
- Set up, configure, deploy and support PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, meeting-room equipment and other peripherals.
- Administer user accounts, groups, licenses, mailboxes, access permissions and device enrolment across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and Intune.
- Install, update and troubleshoot operating systems, business applications and approved cloud services; maintain patching and endpoint compliance.
- Support the deployment and day-to-day use of approved AI and productivity services, including Microsoft Copilot, and troubleshoot access, licensing, application and policy issues.
- Diagnose connectivity and performance issues across local networks, internet connections, Wi-Fi, VPNs and client cloud environments.
- Monitor alerts, backups, device health and security events; take prompt remedial action and report suspected cyber incidents in line with company procedures.
- Follow secure working practices, including identity verification, least-privilege access, change control, data protection and safe handling of client information.
- Maintain accurate technical notes, knowledge-base articles, asset records, configuration details and client documentation.
- Use approved scripts, automation and remote-management tools to improve service efficiency, testing changes and documenting their purpose and outcome.
- Liaise professionally with clients, colleagues, suppliers and the workshop, provide progress updates and confirm satisfactory resolution.
- Provide clear user guidance and basic training after installations or changes, and identify recurring issues or opportunities to improve client systems and support processes.
- Assist with stock control, equipment receipt, preparation and secure disposal when required.
- Hands-on experience supporting Windows 11 devices and Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, including accounts, groups, permissions, multifactor authentication and Conditional Access.
- Understanding of endpoint deployment and management using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, compliance policies and application deployment.
- Sound networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, switches and routers.
- Awareness of modern cybersecurity practices, including least privilege, Zero Trust, phishing prevention, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, patching, backup and recovery.
- Experience with remote-support, monitoring and ticketing tools, with the ability to document incidents, changes, assets and resolutions accurately.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise work, manage competing requests and escalate appropriately.
- Clear written and verbal communication, a professional customer-focused manner and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- A commitment to continuous learning and keeping technical knowledge current.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive

- Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, security alerts, email protection and information-protection controls.
- Basic PowerShell scripting or automation skills for administration, diagnostics and reporting.
- Awareness of Microsoft Copilot or Security Copilot, including responsible use, data privacy, access controls and validation of AI-generated output.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
- A full UK driving license, as travel to client sites may be required.
