| From January 01 2007 all companies in the UK will be required by law to include specific information on their web site or risk a fine. The minimum information to be provided is:
• The name of the service provider • The email address of the service provider (it is not sufficient to have a contact form without displaying an email address • The geographic address of the service provider (it is not sufficient to include a PO box) • The company's registration number, if applicable, and place of registration (For example, Company ABC is registered in England and Wales with company number 123456789) • Membership details of any trade associations that the company is a member of • A VAT registration number, if applicable • Prices must be clear and unambiguous, stating whether or not tax and delivery is included

| Today, Nominet UK held an EGM where members voted in favour of enabling electronic voting and communication and expanding the scope of services provided.
This means that Nominet are now able to bid to become the UK Tier one registry for ENUM, an internationally approved method for connecting the telephone communications network to the Internet, utilising the domain name system.

| Microsoft has finally locked down release dates for Windows Vista and Office 2007, launching both simultaneously on the 30th of November.
Along with Office, the business version of Vista will enjoy a worldwide launch this month, with consumer versions of the much-anticipated operating system to follow next year in what is currently expected to be the 30th of January. Exchange Server 2007 will also be released on the same day, giving business access to the spectrum of Microsofts next generation products should they wish to dive in head first. |

| Microsoft has today released version 7 of Internet Explorer. New features include anti-phishing, tabbed browsing and an integrated RSS feed reader. Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Server 2003 Service Pack 1 are required to use the new browser.
In a few weeks time Internet Explorer 7 will be pushed out as an automatic update.

Sophos Anti-Rootkit provides an extra layer of detection, by safely and reliably detecting and removing any rootkit that might already have secreted itself onto your system.
The term rootkit is used to define a Trojan used to hide the presence of a malicious object from the computer user or administrator.

| RM has withdrawn telephone support for it's Connect 2.4 network. However, schools and colleges still running the Windows NT4 based network in coexistence with a Community Connect 3 network will continue to receive support for 'coexistence' specific enquiries until 31 July 2006.
Online support for Connect 2.4 will remain available through RM's extensive knowledge library.
